Choosing Your Puppy
We keep in touch almost weekly from about the time just before the puppies are born till delivery date. We do so by using an e-mail broadcast system that allows us to send one message that is delivered to all of our customers for that litter, at the same time. You are welcome to call directly, anytime, if you have questions about our puppies or our procedures.
We will announce the date by email when you can choose your puppy from the photos that we have posted. Choosing is in order of the date your deposit has been received. We start taking photos of the litter by the second week after birth. In two week the puppies open their eyes but they still cannot see very well. By four weeks we attempt to take individual photos of the puppies. You can choose your puppy at about six weeks after birth and we attempt to take videos of the puppies playing at that time but that is subject to weather conditions.
Reservation Holders
When you make a reservation to adopt a puppy not yet born, its important to understand how many litters we are expecting and how many reservations (adoption agreements) are ahead of yours. We have many mature female dogs and we produce many litters during the seasons without the need to overtax any one producing female.
When its your turn to choose your puppy at you may discover that the sex and or colour of the puppy you wished for is simply not available in that litter. You may decide that you are not prepared to choose from that litter. In this case, your reservation is automatically placed on the list for our next GBSD litter. Your position on the list for the next litter, and the order that you choose your puppy from the next litter, is determined by the date you sent us your original adoption agreement and deposit. Reservation holders with dates that are earlier than your original adoption agreement and deposit date choose first and dates after yours choose after. If you must postpone your selection to the next litter, you will likely be at or near the top of the next list.
Your offer to adopt provides you with an opportunity to select a puppy with your preferred sex and colour. You may change this selection at any date or time before the puppy choosing date. Changing your selection after that date, and after the adoption list has been published is possible as long as your new selection does not disadvantage buyers below you on the adoption list.
There is no cancellation provision in our adoption agreement. The deposit you make is applied to buying dog food and paying for vet expenses. There is no provision for returning your deposit should you change your mind and in that case, your deposit will be forfeited.

Tail Docking - Due claw Removal
Weimaraners often have their tails docked. Although GBSD look somewhat like Weims, we are not breeding Weimaraners. For this and other reasons we do not dock tails. We do not remove dew claws. This is a cosmetic procedure and almost always unnecessary. Our vet advises that they not be removed unless they become a problem.
Shipping To USA
Homeland Security has made shipping puppies to the USA very expensive and time consuming. We are not able to ship to the USA.
