Oscar - Seven Month Puppy

. Oscar is a gentle, friendly, sociable puppy with inexhaustible levels of energy.

At seven months, he is as tall as his Weimaraner father and will grow taller. Oscar looks almost identical to Chief, his full Weimaraner father shown in the photo to the right. Oscar was born in October 2006, part of a large litter. When Oscar was born he was smaller than his brothers and sisters puppies. We kept Oscar off the market until now, to monitor his growth. It soon became apparent to us that Oscar was catching up in size at a fast rate of speed. Oscar is now a normal sized puppy and he is still growing. He has developed into a prime, outdoors adventure partner for active families, the goal of our Georgian Bay Sporting dog breeding program.

Oscar's mother is Annie, a black Weimaraner Lab cross. Annie is a tall dog of about 85 lbs, a proven retriever and hunter. Annie is a communicator and Oscar has her talents. Oscar's father, Chief is a seventy pound, three year old Weimaraner in the photo above. Oscar will likely reach 70 to 75 lbs., making him equal to or slightly heavier than his father. There is a chance he could grow larger too. Oscar looks like a Weimaraner in almost every respect. He differs only in that he has a full tail and a winter coat that is longer than his father's coat. Oscar is well suited to being outside in the winter which and he does not tend to run away. These traits are the main goals of our breeding program. Oscar's winter coat will shed each spring. Shedding can be controlled with a curry comb, not a brush. By summer, Oscar should have a short sleek coat..

A Photo History of "The Best Of Our Photos".
"Pointers, hounds and retrievers will run off to hunt because hunting is the most important thing in their lives; the Weimaraner stays with you when off leash because playing with you is the most wonderful activity it can share with the people it loves."

Notice

Descriptions and predictions of a puppy's temperament and physical characteristics when mature are based on our experience. When a puppy matures its actual physical and character traits may differ.

Prices are subject to change without notice. Puppy values decline as puppies get older. Price reductions for unsold older puppies represent the value lost to an owner for not being able to raise and train a puppy from infancy. Price reductions for older puppies do not reflect a reduction in the quality of the puppies sold nor do lower values for older puppies reduce the value of the higher priced puppies sold for optimum adoption dates.

In our experience, there is no disadvantage to adopting an older GBSD puppy. The Weimaraner breed is naturally able to bond with its master and family. In our experience purchasing an older puppy at a discount has little or no effect on one’s ability to train or socialize the dog. Purchasing an older puppy will not inhibit strength of the bond that will develop between you or your family and the puppy when treated with love, care and attention. Older puppies are often house trained and have had all their vaccination shots.
