Shipping Puppies Canada USA
July 11, 2007 We shipped another puppy named Storm to Edmonton. See our photo journal. "Storm goes through Edmonton Alberta"
July: We shipped a puppy named Lilly, to Mary G. who lives near Boston. Read her story here.
We sent a puppy from our last litter all the way to Edmonton. Sadie was sent to Samantha, her daughter Jordon and Jordon's dad, Lee. Sadie travelled from Killarney to Sudbury and flew via Air Canada to Toronto, then Edmonton. She left Sudbury dressed in a new coat at about 1pm and because of unexpected flight delays, Sadie arrived in Edmonton at about 2am, Edmonton time but Air Canada took very good care of Sadie along the way despite the long delays. Here is a photo presentation .
We have shipped one eight week old puppy from Sudbury Ontario to Edmonton, via Toronto with Air Canada. All went well. We have another puppy to ship to Boston MA, USA.
We know we can ship puppies via Air Canada to any city destination where there is an Air Canada Cargo facility. The cost is about $200.00, more or less and the shipping crate is about $40.00,CAN.
Shipments to the US require some investigation of local state regulation but likely all the puppy needs is prove of its first series of vaccination shots. No rabies shots was necessary for TX or MA. Rules my vary from State to State however.

Air Canada's service provides heated vans to transport the puppy from the cargo area to the plane and back again. The cargo area for live animals is heated. Air Canada staff will insure that the puppy has water and food if provided. We took photos of Sadie, a brown and tan puppy sent to Edmonton at eight weeks of age. The Air Canada staff were very accommodating and interested in Sadie as you can see from the photo. Sadie never did dirty her cage over the thirteen hours it took to get her to Edmonton, after flight delays. Someone at Air Canada Live Animal Division was looking after her along the way! Thank you Air Canada Cargo!
The total cost of the flight was $200.00 for the flight and the cost of the Hagen shipping container approved by Air Canada which was in the $100.00 range. The shipping container is a high quality crate and can be use for initial crate training after you take you puppy home so it represents an expense you may have to make anyway.
For Samantha, the process was full of questions, anticipation and worry. Its hard enough buying your first puppy, sight unseen. Then having your puppy shipped half way across the continent was enough to keep Samantha awake at nights.
During the weeks before Sadie was finally shipped I spoke to Samantha many, many times about Sadie. Either she called me or I called Smantha. I took many photos of Sadie as she was growing and sent them along. By the time Sadie reached her new home in Edmonton, Samatha had filled a full album of puppy photos of Sadie.

Hello Brien
Well its been about a week and I am glad to say Sadie is great! We have her trained to do her business out side. She is also sitting and playing fetch. My daughter just loves her. I have attached a picture of the two of them on the sofa. Sadie has taken over the sofa, witch you said she would! She sleeps in our room and is okay in the crate as long as we are in the room, but if she is alone she cries.( that makes me sad) I just thought I would touch base we haven't heard from you in a while. Take care.
Samantha
