Black GBSD Puppies At Play - Indian Summer Day October 25th, 2009

Father of these puppies is 'Reddy Fox', a fox red field trial Labrador Retriever and the mothers of these puppies are third generation GBSD.

These female and male puppies will grow to between 65 and 80 lbs.

Like Labs and Weims, our GBSD dogs have lots of energy! In this video they have just been released from their pens for their daily exercise so they are full of beans and they are desperate to play and explore. However, once their energies have been spent, they are calmer than Weimaraners and they have no separation anxiety.

GBSD have one other great attribute. They stay with me when off leash. We take ten of these puppies for long walks every day but they don't run off. This is a Weimaraner trait preserved in our GBSD.

The golden puppy is from Toni and was born July 16, 2009. In the m ix is a smaller 'Charcoal' puppy from Toni, also born July 16.

Brien,

So far the puppy has been great. I'll take some pictures when I get some good ones. she is really calm in the house and just sits by you when your sitting on the couch.She likes to try and sneak up on the couch once in a while but we just put her back down on the floor and tell her no. She went for a walk with me on the leash and Angel did really well. I am just being patient with her and allowing her to get adjusted. So far she has been great.

We love her. I'll keep in touch and thanks a lot.

In our experience, there is no disadvantage to adopting an older GBSD puppy. The Weimaraner breed is naturally able to bond with its master and family. In our experience purchasing an older puppy at a discount has little or no effect on one’s ability to train or socialize the dog. Purchasing an older puppy will not inhibit strength of the bond that will develop between you or your family and the puppy when treated with love, care and attention. Older puppies are often house trained and have had all their vaccination shots.
