GBSD ‘Macy’ Lives In St. John’s Newfoundland
Macy In Newfoundland
We received a letter from Matt and Amy who live in Newfoundland. Last year we shipped Matt and Amy a black, 2nd generation GBSD. You can see their letter describing Macy and her life in Newfoundland and you can see some interesting photos of Macy at http://blackbearfarm.com/dogs/owner-matt-macy.php
where there is a photo of Macy on historic ‘Signal Hill’.
Shipping to Newfoundland turned out to be a little more complicated than expected. Due to problems connecting flights from Sudbury Toronto Halifax and St. Johns that day. Air Canada elected to put up Macy in their pet boarding kennel for an overnight stay in Halifax. Macy was looked after by experienced dog lovers in a private kennel contracted by Air Canada. Macy was delivered to Matt and Amy in St. John’s Newfoundand the next morning. Macy is a ‘Charcoal’ GBSD. Her body shape very much Weimaraner but her colour is a deep charcoal grey and her coat is slightly longer than a Weim. Macy is a proven water dog and retriever as her photos will show. We have not asked Matt or Amy if they have played tracking games with Macy but we will. She is ideal equipped for this entertaining sport played between dog and masters. Her nose is long enough to make her a gifted tracker. Tracking games are explained here. http://www.blackbearfarm.com/dogs/playing-with-your-weimaraner.php
Christmas In Killarney
Killarney has just experienced its most beautiful Christmas in many years. The snow was deep and covered the trees. Christmas day was blessed with moderate temperatures and the sun was shining all day with no wind. Killarney offers access to thousands square miles of wilderness plus the protected areas of Killarney Provincial Park which is a protected wildlife preserve where one can camp, canoe, kayak or hike the LaCloche Mountains and the shores of the many jewel like lakes of the park. Plus one has access to the wilderness coast and protected Bahama like island archipelagos of Georgian Bay
Here are some photos of Killarney. The winter photos were taken on Christmas day. www.laclochegallery.com
